MT65 Disney On Ice

Client Feld Entertainments
Location Worldwide
Year
1995

Built for Feld Entertainments for the Disney On Ice world tours. The brief was that the show had to be moved from an arena setting, into a portable structure - without any show changes or compromises.

Due to scheduling issues, the structure was used first by Oasis and then at Glastonbury before going to China and South America with the Disney On Ice world tour. Designed by Rudi Enos, this structure became an iconic backdrop in a lot of this era’s live performance photography and videography. The Disney On Ice portable arena ice shows are among the largest touring shows in the world, typically including 150 to 300 artists. The structures have been used in the Middle East, South America and Asia. Typically, the structure houses up to 10,000 seated people, an 18m x 40m (60ft x 130ft) portable ice rink and suspends 20,000 kg (44,000lbs) of lights, effects and rigging. The structures have housed shows including Aladdin, Toy Story and The Lion King.
